KANU leaders want judges in BBI case probed

Trans Nzoia KANU leaders have reacted to the High Court’s ruling on the nullification of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) process and asked for scrutiny of the five judges.

Led by KANU Branch Chairman Francis Chemwor Psomgen, the leaders faulted the five-judge bench that declared the document unconstitutional and asked the Judicial Service Commission to investigate them.

“It is wrong for some people who are in government to be openly defiant and leading the onslaught against BBI from behind the curtains. The President must not condone such leaders who are enjoying benefits of the 2010 Constitution which they opposed,” Psomgen said.

Psomgen challenged Deputy President William Ruto to resign and chat his own political path instead of showing defiance to President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he is supposed to work with collectively.

“Ruto’s defiance and invoking God’s name in the ruling is totally wrong and it is time for him to go. Who told him it is only him that God listens to?” Psomgen, who is an ally of KANU National Chairman Gideon Moi, asked.

Former Kitale Deputy Mayor Pius Mzee arap Kauka asked the President not to be cowed down by those opposed to the Building Bridges Initiative ( BBI) saying their attempts to scuttle the process will not go far.

“You don’t have to continue biting the hand that has fed you. The best thing for them to do is to resign from the government and go since they have openly shown themselves as traitors of the unity of this country,” Kauka said.
