Kalonzo faults Ruto over CBC and Housing Levy

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has weighed in on President William Ruto’s policies on the country’s education system and the housing levy.

Musyoka, in an address at the party headquarters where a decision to oust Farah Maalim from the party was ratified, called on the president to abolish both the housing levy and the controversial Competency Based Curriculum (CBC)education.

According to Musyoka the house levy taxes were conceived at the detriment of Kenyans and are only benefitting people close to the president.

“The government must do away with housing levy taxes. They are unconstitutional and almost an abomination. You can’t take public land and give your friends. You’re selling steel and cement to them and have taken over Bamburi cement. You call that affordable housing,” Musyoka said.

On education, Musyoka lamented the government’s empty promises as schools remain in deplorable state.

“It is ironic that the government claims they have built enough classes. We need to take the government into account and ask him the number of classes built. The education system is a mess’ our health system have been captured. You can imagine even parents of our children are not aware of their children’s next grade after the ninth,” Musyoka, who once served as the education minister added.

Musyoka has also doubled down on his calls for Ruto’s resignation downplaying his trips across the country ostensibly to unite Kenyans as futile.

“I call upon Kenyans, everyone to make it their call to get this regime out of office. We need to unite behind  the common goal of getting Kenya kwanza out of office,” he added.

Musyoka was flanked by Shakila Abdalla, the party’s secretary general among other leaders.
