Kalonzo: Abductions to end with Ruto defeat in 2027
By Rawlings Otieno, January 23, 2025
Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka has rejected President William Ruto’s rhetoric that he is trying to unite Kenya, saying the country “is already united”.
His remarks came as the party officially kick-started the process of removing Daadab MP Farah Maalim.
Yesterday, the party held a meeting of the National Executive Council chaired by Kalonzo in which they resolved to kick out Maalim for what they termed gross misconduct.
Kalonzo claimed anger is growing among the electorate to send Ruto home in 2027.
“The President should not purport to unite the country which is already united. In actual sense, Kenyans are more united to send him home in 2027,” he said.
At a press briefing at the Wiper party headquarters in Nairobi, Kalonzo warned that a time will come when Ruto will be held accountable for Kenya’s mess.
CBC challenges
Kalonzo claimed the education system is “broken”, citing challenges facing Grade Nine students under the Competency Based Curriculum and the public’s rejection of a new university funding model.
“The education system is completely broken and parents are wondering where those who leave Grade Nine go,” he said.
“The children of the poor are asked to pay huge sums of money to access university education. Many Kenyans do not know where the education system is headed.”
He went on: “When they were campaigning, they said that they would investigate state capture. They themselves have orchestrated and entrenched state capture. A time will come when we shall hold Ruto accountable for the mess and sufferings his administration has inflicted on Kenyans.”
Flanked by his lieutenants, Kalonzo urged Kenyans not to lose hope but prepare to send President Ruto and his surrogates to the political dustbin in the 2027 polls.
