Similarly, roads leading to the stadium and the county Government Headquarters in Arujo, are also undergoing renovation.

With the much-anticipated day awaiting, the government also confirmed that the Kabunde Airstrip is undergoing renovation particularly on its runway fencing.

“Things are getting ‘Maliet’ in Home Bay County meaning hot as preparations for the National Madaraka Day celebrations are in full gear,” the PS said.

The PS equally asserted that the national event slated for June 1, will follow the theme ‘Blue economy and Maritime Affairs’.

This, according to the PS is in line with the country’s strategic focus on unlocking potential of Kenya’s aquatic resources for sustainable development and economic transformation.

“This year’s celebrations, which will be held in Homa Bay County, are themed ‘Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs’ in line with our country’s strategic focus on unlocking the potential of our aquatic resources for sustainable development and economic transformation,” he said.

“This approach ensures that each host county enjoys long-term socio-economic gains beyond the celebrations,” the PS added.
