Justina Wamae warns Kenya against going the Nepal way, calls for reforms
By Joel Masibo, September 12, 2025Former Roots party presidential running mate Justina Wamae has cautioned Kenyans against going the Nepal, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh way in the fight against bad governance.
Talking to X on Friday, September 12, 2025, Wamae argued that forcing government leaders through arson and anarchy cannot be the solution to better service delivery to the citizens.
Her remarks come at a time when the situation in Nepal remains tense, with troops patrolling the capital, Kathmandu, after protests forced out the prime minister and arson attacks left government buildings in ruins recently.
”Many Kenyans are of the view that we should go the Nepal, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh way. Their argument is that this disruption will make those elected and appointed to influence and shape legislation and policies to FEAR citizens. Then what?” Wamae posed.

Justina Wamae further wondered whether there is a valid point in doing what other nations have done to call out rogue governance. Instead of calling for different, better means to champion a better governance system.
Wamae calls for informed reforms in governance
”At the risk of you telling me to shove my opinion up that place, I dare ask, Do we have to COPY others? My opinion is that this rage must be channelled into reform. Political Parties are vehicles for the formulation of public policy. How about actively participating in political parties’ activities? There are over 90 registered political parties in Kenya. Choose one that you fancy.”

Justina Wamae carried on; ”How about contributing financially or even volunteering for political parties’ activities? Third, how about making a deliberate decision to register as a voter?”
The politician also advised Kenyans to vote for policy proposals as opposed to tribe in the 2027 general election. She cautioned against empty rhetoric and the handouts received. She further asked citizens to volunteer in protecting the votes as party agents.
”Beloved Kenyans, we must strive to be different and give economic democracy, market fundamentals, innovation, research, differentiation, strategy, vision and best practices a chance.”
Meanwhile, as Nepal tries to rise from the ashes of recent protests, the De facto leaders of the protest movement have met with military officials and agreed on having an interim government.
