Junet, Sumra record statements over alleged ethnic profiling
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and ex-MP Irshad Sumra record statements over hateful sentiments during Kibra By-election campaigns.

Suna East Member of Parliament (MP) Junet Mohamed and former Embakasi South MP Irshad Sumra have recorded statements with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over alleged incitement and ethnic profiling.

The two Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party members alongside Embakasi MP Babu Owino allegedly made hateful sentiments last weekend while campaigning for their party candidate in the Kibra by-election, Imran Okoth.

The two were accompanied by Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, who is their lawyer.

Yesterday, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji condemned the three ODM members for the remarks on October 14.

Their Embakasi East counterpart Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino, is also expected to record statement with the commission.
