Here is what you need to know to keep up to speed with today’s happenings.

Opposition tour

The opposition leaders are expected to continue with their meet-the-people tour on Saturday.

Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and Justin Muturi will lead the convoy. They are expected to address rallies in Voi Town, Maungu, Mazeras, Mariakani, and Kisauni on their second day of the tour.

On Friday, June 6, 2025, the opposition visited Malili, Sultan Hamud, Emali, Makindu Town, Kibwezi, and Machinery.

“With my brother Kalonzo Musyoka and other leaders, we acknowledged warm greetings and solidarity from the people of Malili in Makueni County.

“We are committed to pursuing the change we believe is necessary — an unstoppable movement towards a new regime that truly serves the interests of our people. Change is not just a choice; it’s the only option for a better future. Together, we stand united and determined,” Gachagua said.

Finance Bill 2025 debate

The debate around the Finance Bill 2025 is expected to take centre stage at various levels of society.

The bill has been subjected to public participation, and the citizens have shown interest in it, given the crowds that attend these events, especially in Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nairobi.

Treasury CS John Mbadi is set to present the National Budget for 2025/26 on June 12.
