DCP’s Kamau Ngotho ends campaign with rallying call to Ol Kalou voters
DCP candidate Sammy Kamau Ngotho has wrapped up his campaign for the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election with a renewed appeal to voters.
He has expressed confidence that the constituency is ready for a change in leadership.
Using Facebook ahead of the close of campaigns on Monday, July 13, 2026, Ngotho said Ol Kalou residents had already made their choice before Thursday’s July 16 vote.
Kamau Ngotho appeal to voters

“I present to you the people of Ol Kalou, resolute, unbowed, determined,” Ngotho wrote.
“The great people of Ol Kalou have made up their minds about the kind of leadership they want beginning on 16th July.
“No amount of intimidation or tokenism will shake their resolve to secure a better tomorrow.”
He added: “Change is coming soon.”
The Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election has become one of Kenya’s most closely watched political contests, with the outcome expected to provide an early indication of the political mood in Nyandarua County and the wider Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Calls for a peaceful vote
As campaigns entered their final hours, Nyandarua Senator John Methu renewed his appeal for peace, urging residents not to allow political competition to degenerate into violence.

Speaking during a church service in Mirangine, the DCP Secretary General said no resident should lose their life or sustain injuries because of the by-election.
“There should be no daughter or son of Ol Kalou who should shed even a drop of blood. There should be no daughter or son of Ol Kalou who should be injured just because of a by-election,” Methu said.
He also called on the government to ensure all candidates, supporters and voters are protected regardless of their political affiliation.
“Anyone belonging to DCP or the other side should be protected from any form of violence,” he said.
Momentum builds
Ngotho’s final message was echoed by Nyandarua Senator John Methu, who declared that the constituency was ready to elect the DCP candidate.
“All sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya. Ol Kalou is ready for their incoming MP, Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru Ngotho,” Methu wrote.

The July 16 poll will fill the parliamentary seat left vacant following the death of former MP David Kiaraho.
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Ol Kalou has 73,480 registered voters spread across 144 polling stations in Rurii, Kanjuiri Ridge, Karau, Kaimbaga and Mirangine wards.
Campaigns officially close on Monday, July 13, paving the way for a mandatory cooling-off period before voters head to the ballot on Thursday.
With the campaigns now ending, attention shifts from political rallies to voter turnout, election security and whether the confidence expressed by competing camps will be reflected in the final results.
