Collection of KCSE printouts
Candidates who sat for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and received their results are expected to start collecting their printouts on Friday, January 17, 2025.
In a notice on Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced that the important documents had been dispatched to all Sub-County Directors of Education offices countrywide.
Further, the examining body directed schools that presented candidates for the examination to liaise with their SCDEs to collect the printouts
“The 2024 KCSE examination results printouts have been dispatched to all Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDES) offices countrywide. Schools that presented candidates for the examination are advised to liaise with their SCDEs to collect the printouts,” KNEC announced.
No Nanyuki train
Passengers who depend on the Nanyuki Safari train will be forced to find alternative means of transport after Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) announced a disruption.
In a notice, the corporation informed travellers that the train would be unavailable on Friday, January 17, 2025.
KRC attributed the planned disruption to the blockage of a section of the railway line hampering movement.
”We wish to inform members of the public that the Nanyuki Safari train will not run on Friday, January 17, 2025,” Kenya Railways announced
”This is due to a blockage on a section of the line, which is hindering the movement of trains between Nairobi and Nanyuki.”

New CSs
After approval by the National Assembly of the three Cabinet Secretary nominees, they are expected to take an oath of office any day starting from Friday, January 16, 2025.
The MPs convened a special sitting on Thursday, January 16, 2025, where they unanimously approved Mutahi Kagwe, William Kabogo, and Lee Kinyanjui for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries for Agriculture and Livestock Development, ICT and Digital Economy, and Investment, Trade, and Industry, respectively.
During the special sitting, the MPs noted that the three passed the vetting test setting the stage for confirmation.
They however challenged them to put their best foot forward in their respective dockets should President William Ruto give a nod to their appointment.
Kagwe if approved would assume the Agriculture docket previously held by Andrew Karanja who was reassigned and sent to Brazil as Kenya’s High Commissioner.
Kabogo on the other hand would replace Margaret Nyambura who turned Ghana’s ambassadorial role while Lee Kinyajui would assume the Trade docket which was left vacant following the reassignment of CS Salim Mvurya to the Ministry of Sports.
