I need no endorsement for 2027, says Kalonzo

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday said he does not need endorsement from anyone to be elected president in 2027.
Kalonzo said the presidency is up for grabs and that he stands a better chance to take it either by “fire or by force.”
Without elaborating, Kalonzo said he is ready to take the mantle, telling President William Ruto and his allies they would not be allowed to disenfranchise voters and cause confusion in 2027 and beyond.
Speaking at Kamuwongo Catholic Church in Kyuso, Mwingi North, Kitui County, theRigathi Gach former Vice President told the congregation that he appeared weak when his supporters persistently asked him to be patient and wait for endorsement.
Hand over
He asked Ruto to hand over the presidency at the end of his first term.
“Ruto must stop attacking the Catholic Church and Muslims for exposing his corruption deals. Kenyans have enough of his trickery by sowing hatred and causing divisions among communities,” he said.
Kalonzo weighed into the government’s illegal debt repayment and alleged grabbing of Kenya Defence Forces land giving the church.
“The international community is calling out Kenya for supporting the war in South Sudan. Ruto must be held responsible for the war,” he said.
He said the president was treading on a dangerous lane and had crossed the red line.
He asked farmers in the region to snub the mass livestock vaccination, terming it a ploy by Kenya Kwanza administration to fleece farmers.
Kalonzo termed as mockery Ruto’s remarks that Kambas were best known for Ndengu growing rather than cattle keeping.
On the stalled Kitui-Kibwezi-Migwani-Mbondoni road, the Wiper leader said it is clear the president had no respect for the community living along the highway.
He faulted Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna who walked into the church as he spoke, for being lured to vote for the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on false promises of completion of the road.
Meanwhile, Gachagua is confident that the unity between Mt Kenya region and Kamba Community is what will give them a first round win in the 2027 elections
Speaking in Machakos after attending a church service at Gospel Confirmation Centre on Sunday, Gachagua said the Gema community, with the backing of their Ukambani neighbours, is the key to ousting Ruto.
Gachagua criticised his former boss for orchestrating his ouster, stating that despite this, he managed to rally all the strong leaders from Mount Kenya in the Kenya Kwanza government.
He also mentioned that whether former Prime Minister Raila Odinga supports them or not, they are confident in their unity asserting that Raila is the only lifeline for Ruto, and without him, Ruto would crumble.
He condemned Kibwezi MP Mwengi Mutuse, who tabled his impeachment, accusing him of attempting to divide Mt. Kenya and Ukambani regions.
He reiterated the importance of unity between the two regions, stating that their main agenda is to remove Ruto from office.
