Reading the budget statement before Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) at Kathwana, Finance and Economic Planning CEC Member Dorothy Naivasha said the health sector will take the lion’s share with an allocation of an estimated  Sh2 billion.

Other sectors such as water, infrastructure, trade, land, and agriculture were also allocated money to complete ongoing projects and programmes as well as initiate new ones, all aimed at transforming the lives of Tharaka Nithi residents.

The CEC revealed that the county is currently struggling to fund many activities as a result of the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
