Head of Public Service and State House Chief of Staff Felix Koskei has issued a warning to corrupt civil servants and urged them to desist from such behaviours.

Speaking at the Thanksgiving ceremony at Kemeloi Boys High School in Nandi, Koskei said the Kenya Kwanza administration will not condone corrupt activities among the civil servants who have been given the mandate to serve the public diligently adding that screws were being tightened to stop public servants involved in corrupt activities.

“Today, I want to make it clear; If a public service employee is involved in criminal conduct, he or she must know, that sooner or later, they will be detected through the lifestyle audit process and steps will be taken against them. Police should stop corruption, teachers the same, everybody who is a civil servant must not engage in such vice,” Kosgei stated.

Koskei said it was so disheartening to see public resources meant to develop a country lost in the hands of those given the responsibility of service delivery

“We cannot professionalise the public service, improve service delivery or have economic growth if we condone unethical conduct and ignore corrupt behaviour. Imagine money meant for certain road or school construction being embezzled then the public remains suffering, such behaviours will not be accepted,” Koskei added.

He emphasised that President William Ruto’s regime was committed to delivering on his campaign promises to Kenyans.

“We have just passed the Finance Bill 2023 and presented our budget estimates. Ours is to now wait to deliver to Kenyans. As public servants we are much dedicated to rolling out the President’s agenda fully as captured in his plan that is why we are warning and reminding our workers to keep off from corruption-like engagements,” Koskei remarked.

Koskei was accompanied by Nandi governor Stephen Sang alongside Nandi senator Samson Cherargei and principal secretary in the Ministry of Sports Dr Peter Tum who said they believe that Kenya’s economy will be transformed fully under Ruto’s leadership.

“It’s about time and our economy will come back and far improved unlike now. We voted in leaders who understand what bottom-up is. Let us support our current regime ” Sang said.

On his side, Cherargei said Members of Parliament (MPs) who voted against the contentious Finance Bill 2023 should be punished for opposing the government’s plans to transform the economy.

“Yes we are in a democratic country but when the president says left, we go left, when he says right, we must go right, if he orders jump, we ask how long and far we jump, but going against what the party leader is advising is uncalled for, the rebel MPs must be whipped ” Cherargei stated.
