Gachagua to resume DCP continental tours in 2026
By Lutta Njomo, December 20, 2025Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has signalled plans to expand the availability of his party, Democracy for the Citizens (DCP), for Kenyans in the diaspora in 2026.
In a statement on Saturday, December 20, 2025, the former DP announced plans to travel to other continents in 2026 to engage with the diaspora community and establish satellite offices.
Gachagua made the remarks during a meeting with Kenyans living and working in the diaspora at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri.
” I spent a great day with @DCP_Democracy Diaspora Chapter as I hosted them for Christmas. I thanked them for hosting me in the United States in July and August this year to a successful engagement with Kenyans living and working there,” Gachagua’s statement read in part.

2026 tours
“They briefed me on the growth of the various DCP chapters across the World as I took them through our success in marketing our party – DCP, locally as clearly depicted by our wins in the recent by by-elections in Kakamega, Narok and in the Nairobi City County,” Gachagua explained.
“They also briefed me on arrangements for my visit to other continents next year to open Satellite offices and popularise the party to Kenyans living and working in diaspora,” the former DP announced.

USA tour
Gachagua left Kenya on July 9, 2025, for a two-month tour across the United States; his first international trip since being removed from office in October 2024.
In the US, Gachagua engaged with different groups and popularised his political outfit. While opening diaspora offices, Gachagua said that for many years, the pleas of Kenyans have gone unheard, even as he promised to go above and beyond to listen to the people.

He insisted that no one will be left behind should DCP win the leadership of the country in the 2027 general elections.
“The DCP Party, founded on the philosophy of listening to mwananchi, remains firm on this resolve. For far too long, Kenyans have been unheard, especially now. As a party, we shall move to every village and every part of the world where Kenyans are and listen to them,” he insisted.
