By , April 14, 2020

Four people have tested positive for coronavirus in Mandera, bringing number affected in the county to six.

The four were among the 11 confirmed cases across the country announced by the Health Cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe yesterday.

Mandera led in confirmed cases yesterday followed by Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru and Machakos counties which reported three, two and one cases each, respectively.

The confirmed cases in Mandera were among the 30 patients who were in quarantine.

Mandera Governor Ali Roba yesterday said the four had been in contact with the first two patients as they had earlier travelled on the same bus, adding that the tests were conducted in Mandera.

“The discovery of the four new cases of Covid-19 means more contact tracing of  people being quarantined leading to further needs for more testing,”  said Roba.
