Former Kaloleni Member of Parliament(MP) Gunga Mwinga has succumbed while receiving treatment at a Hospital in Mombasa.

Mwinga’s elder brother who is also the family spokesperson Gunga Baya confirmed the former legislator’s death on Sunday.

Earlier reports indicated that the former MP had been isolated at a hospital in Mombasa for Covid-19 related complications.

Mwinga was the MP for Kaloleni from 2013-2017 until he was replaced with the incumbent Paul Katana.

Mwinga was a member of FORD Asili party but later defected to the Devolution Party of Kenya in 2017.
