Farouk Kibet: Western Kenya should produce Ruto’s successor in 2032
Farouk Kibet has endorsed Western Kenya as President William Ruto’s successor in 2032 after the completion of his term.
While speaking during a funeral service in Malava constituency on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, he urged the region to rally behind Ruto’s reelection in 2027 since after his final term in 2032, Western Kenya will be his possible successor.
According to Farouk, Ruto will be willing to support any leader from Mulembe who will be interested in succeeding him.
He further stated that since they are neighbours with the Kalenjin community, they will also be willing to pay back to the Mulembe region after supporting their own son for 2 terms.
“William Ruto ako na 5 years; term yake ya mwisho ikimalizika, 10 years ambayo haijaanza mimi naomba iwe ya Mluhya. Jirani wa karibu si ni Mkalenjin? Si wako na kura? Mbona tusitembeleane? Jamii ya Mlembe na jamii ya Kalenjin, mkiweka umoja, nyinyi mtakalia kiti baada ya Ruto,” Farouk Kibet stated.
Wetang’ula declaring interest in presidency
This comes days after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula declared interest in succeeding Ruto in 2032. He also urged the community to rally behind Ruto’s reelection in 2027 so that he can also return the support when his time comes.

He argued that the only way the region can realise its dream of having a president drawn from their community is by supporting President Ruto in 2027, noting that as a leader you have to allow other people to use your shoulders to climb to power so that when your time comes, they also lend their shoulders for you to ascend.
“When you want to be a leader, you must allow other people to use your shoulders to climb to power so that when your time arrives, they will also give you their shoulder to climb.”
“Personally, I am doing so, for the Luhya community’s dream of wanting to rule the country will be determined by the 2027 elections. We will support William Ruto, and after his term in 2032, I will be ready to take over from him; the field will be open,” Wetangula stated.
Wetang’ula’s ambition has been strongly dismissed by his critic, former Bungoma Governor Wickliffe Wangamati, stating that the speaker bears no such ambitions and it’s a plan of him wanting to stay relevant till 2032.

“Wetangula tumempa nafsi hii story ambayo amekuwa akitupa sisi, kwamba 2032 atasimama uraisi ni porojo kubwa Zaid ambayo watu wa Bungoma hawafai kusikiza.” Wangamati said.
