A family of a policeman from Masaba South Sub County in Kisii County, who was killed by a speeding motorist at Salgaa road block on Nakuru- Eldoret highway, wants justice done for their kin.

Ronald Nyakeri said his late brother, Ambrose Magoma Nyachwaya, 47, was mounting signage on April 12 when the motorist, rushing to escape the curfew, hit and killed him.

Speaking during the funeral at Getare village, he said his brother has five children aged between two and 18, adding his death has affected their lives.

Nyakeri, flanked by the late officer’s wife, Magdalene Moraa, said the office suffered head and leg injuries and died of internal bleeding as his colleagues rushed him to hospital

He said the motorist was arraigned on Tuesday, took a plea and was freed.

“My brother worked as a General Service Unit ( GSU) officer before he was transferred to traffic section. His sudden death has affected our family,” Nyakeri stated.

Moraa said her husband was a pillar of the family.
