The High Court yesterday dismissed embattled preacher Ezekiel Odero’s application seeking to have his Times TV station re-opened.

It also refused to unfreeze his 28 bank accounts.

The move follows an ex-parte orders issued by a Milimani Court seven days ago freezing his bank and M-Pesa accounts for 30 days pending investigations.

Yesterday, Mombasa High Court judge Olga Sewe dismissed the applications on grounds that Ezekiel had not exploited other administrative avenues.

“I am  not convinced the petitioner warrants the orders sought. They lack merit, are misconceived and therefore untenable,” said Sewe.

This even as the preacher was seen rallying his congregants to continue sending offerings, tithes and sacrifices through the frozen bank and M-Pesa accounts.

“Continue sending money to those frozen numbers and send more than the usual amounts for them to know the source of the money. Even myself, I have deposited Sh3 million in the morning to the same frozen accounts, give to God more money,” he said in televised service streamed via his social media channels.

Yesterday, the judge noted that a letter from the Communications Authority that had been filed before her showed that Ezekiel had been invited for dialogue before the closure of his TV station but there was no indication presented before the court that he had paid attention to the letter.
