Victims of the 1992 Enoosupukia displacement might soon be resettled by the national government. Close to 1,000 families were violently kicked out of their homes in Narok.

They will be vetted afresh before resettlement. Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui says the county has taken up the issue with the State and vetting would start next week.

Speaking in Maella, Kinyanjui said he would work with a list of 988 families evicted from a village in Narok at the height of post-election violence.

“The Enoosupukia evictees have suffered for years,” he said while urging KenGen to come up with a project for the area which borders the geothermal-rich Olkaria plant.  

Others who spoke at the function included former Trade CAS Lawrence Karanja and former Maella MCA Kariuki Mujing’a.
