With the current wave of Kenyan Gen Zs coming out in large numbers to demand accountability, Dorcas Gachagua, the spouse of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has urged the young generation to be moderate in their engagements.

Speaking in Baltimore, USA, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, Dorcas emphasised the importance of staying alive to see the future they are fighting for. She reminded Gen Zs that moderation does not mean fear but rather ensuring their safety as they push for change.

“To our children and Gen Zs, there is one thing that I always tell you: you must stay alive if you are going to see the future, and you are the future. You are the people that we are looking forward to seeing have families and have children, and we want to see you succeed,” she stated.

Dorcas stated that true success and revolution can only be achieved by those who live to see their efforts bear fruit. She assured the young generation that they are supported as long as they continue to walk on the right path, speak the truth, and uphold the law.

“You must moderate the way you do your things, but stay alive because when you are dead, how can you succeed, how can you bring revolution, and how can you bring change? That is not to tell you to be fearful; even God says, Fear not,” she added.

She concluded by expressing her hope to see them succeed, build families, and drive positive change, urging them to stay alive to fulfill their potential.

“As long as you are on the right path, you are speaking the truth, you believe what you believe, and you are convinced that it’s the right and legal thing to do, please continue doing the right thing. We are right behind you as a mother, as a priest,” she concluded.

Ever since 2024, the young people have come out organically without restraint, demanding accountability and protesting and ready to face law enforcers without being afraid of any consequences.
