December 7, 2024: Top news events to look out for today

Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

EALA inter-parliamentary games in Mombasa

Members of parliament from the eight countries that form the East African Community (EAC) are converging in Mombasa for a tournament starting today and running to December 18, 2024.

The games are expected to bring together MPs from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The opening ceremony for the games which will be held on December 7, 2024, will be marked with a procession from the Office of Mombasa Governor to Mama Ngina Waterfront where speeches will be delivered.

President William Ruto is expected to officially launch the regional parliamentary tournament today.

FKF Premier League action

The Kenya Premier League enters its matchweek 12 with five games today starting with a clash between the Police vs Mara Sugar at the Machakos Stadium at 1:00 pm.

This match will be followed by Kakamega Homeboyz vs AFC Leopards at the Mumias Stadium at 2:00 pm, Tusker vs Mathare at 3:00 pm in Sportpesa Stadium, Sofapaka vs Ulinzi at the Dandora Stadium at 3:00 pm and Nairobi City Stars vs Murang’a SEAL at the Machakos Stadium at 4:00 pm.

Similarly, other exciting matches lined up for today include Everton vs Liverpool at 3:30 pm, Crystal Palace vs Man City at 6:00 pm and Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest at 8:30 pm, among other matches.
