Here is what you need to know to keep up to speed with today’s happenings.
Treasury launch Pensioners Self Registration Portal
The National Treasury is on Thursday, December 5, 202,4 expected to launch the pensioners ‘ registration portal.
According to the Treasury, the launch is expected to help modernise pension management to improve efficiency and reliability as part of the new end-to-end Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
The self-registration portal will ensure that Pensioners’ data is complete and valid before being migrated into the new system.
Principal Secretary for the National Treasury Dr. Chris Kiptoo, CBS, will preside over the official launch, which will kick off at 9:00 a.m. at Bima House.

Kenya’s Diplomatic Journey
Kenya is expected to commemorate its 60th anniversary on diplomacy journey by holding a conference on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The conference, which will be held at the University of Nairobi, will allow the various stakeholders to evaluate the successes and failures of Kenya’s diplomacy journey.
The docket is currently led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi who is expected to lead the forum on Thursday.

Gachagua’s allies on being summoned
Allies of the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday, December 4, 202,4 claimed that they had been summoned to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters in Nairobi.
Addressing the media, Gachagua allies noted that they had been ordered to present themselves at DCI Headquarters on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thang’wa, alongside his counterparts Nyandarua Senator John Methu, Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, and MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, were among the leaders who were in Nyeri Town to present themselves to the DCI and said they had been directed to report at the DCI Headquarters.
The leaders are thus expected to present themselves after the summon in Nyeri turned chaotic on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
