Daniel Mutegi Giti sworn in as new NCIC CEO

Dr Daniel Mutegi Giti has been sworn in as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).
Mutegi was sworn in at the Supreme Court of Kenya on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in a ceremony presided over by the Chief Justice Martha Koome and administered by Registrar Esther Nyaiyaki.
“Chief Justice Martha Koome presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Dr Daniel Mutegi Giti as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) at the Supreme Court in Nairobi. Registrar Esther Nyaiyaki administered the Oath during the event, which was attended by NCIC Chairman Rev. Dr. Samuel Kobia, among others,” the Supreme Court stated on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
In a statement after the swearing in ceremony, Koome emphasized the critical role of the NCIC in remaining vigilant, proactive, and steadfast in fostering peace, cohesion, and national unity—especially as the nation embarks on the journey toward the 2027 General Elections.
“This afternoon, I had the honour of welcoming members of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to the Supreme Court and administering the oath of office to Dr Daniel Mutegi Giti as the new CEO. While congratulating Dr Giti on his appointment, I emphasized the critical role of the NCIC in remaining vigilant, proactive, and steadfast in fostering peace, cohesion, and national unity—especially as the nation embarks on the journey toward the 2027 General Elections,” Koome stated.
“I also urged the Commission to take a firm and resolute stance against incitement, hate speech, and ethnic profiling, as these threats, if unchecked, could undermine our national fabric and jeopardize the stability we have diligently cultivated.”
