CS orders principals in transfers to report to new stations forthwith

Education Cabinet Secretary  Prof. George Magoha has directed 53 Technical Vocational Education and Training (Tvet) principals who have been transferred to report to their new stations immediately.

Magoha warned that failure to do so would attract serious consequences.

“The technical team has transferred certain heads of technical training institutions, you are not employed as a bona fide head of an institution, you are transferred to work there for a period,” said the CS yesterday in Nairobi.

He said the ministry has been tasked to re-engineer Tvet sub-sector, which has a number of institutions still lagging behind.

“For instance, the national polytechnics that look like pig-sty, must be brought up very quickly, within the next six months to look like what they should be.

There is money and the same must be used for the intended purpose,” he stated.

The 53 principals were  transferred last week in the ministry’s bid to revamp the Tvet sector.

“My plea is gentle for now but the government does not plead all the time, if you have been transferred to another institution, kindly handover to the person who has come and move on, unless you have been advised otherwise, said the CS.
