Weights and measures inspectors are appointed under the Weights and Measures Act to undertake duties relating to enforcement of standards on weighing and measuring instruments used in trade.

Role of inspectors

Inspectors are responsible for verifying weighing scales, fuel pumps and other measuring equipment used by businesses to ensure compliance with the law and protect consumers from inaccurate measurements.
