Court summons officer for failure to comply with orders
A Nairobi magistrate yesterday summoned an investigating officer to appear in court in a Sh64 million fake gold case.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi (pictured)wants the investigating officer to explain why he had not returned personal items belonging to the suspects in the matter.
The three suspects, two Kenyans, Patrick Ngare Muchina and Kelvin Mwaura Ngotho and Congolese national Muke wa Mansoni Didier informed the court that the investigating officer has failed to comply with the earlier court order requiring him to return their personal items recovered during their arrest. The three are accused of defrauding an Iranian national of Sh 64 million in a deal involving fake gold in April 2023. The matter will be mentioned on June 5 when the investigating officer is expected to explain his lack of compliance.
