In a ruling, Justice Lawrence Mugambi ordered that the application and the petition be served within the next three days and responses to the petition and the application be filed within 10 days.

The petitioner, Martin Gitau, had filed an application seeking an order to halt the upcoming mass protests organized by the Azimio Coalition.

Gitau argues that previous similar protests have resulted in loss of lives and destruction of property, and have the potential to plunge the country into a state of chaos.
