A court official has been arrested by police in connection to theft of two luxury vehicles.

Allan Andayi, an accountant at Kericho Law Courts, was arrested on Monday by sleuths from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for theft of two Toyota Landcruiser vehicles.

The vehicles were reported as stolen in 2014 from a car yard in Nyali, Mombasa County.

To conceal the identity of the vehicles, the thieves altered with the chassis and the registration numbers making them even harder for the owners to find.

The DCI detectives revealed that the cars had been issued with new registration numbers.

“Initial investigations by the detectives revealed that the two were among 5 vehicles that were stolen from Nyali and their Chassis numbers altered. Further investigations from NTSA uncovered that their true registration numbers were KBW 122H & KBQ 805T,” Stated the DCI.

Andayi will be arraigned in court today.
