Court committee calls for expeditious delivery of justice

Nyahururu law court stakeholders have been urged to work closely and smoothly for seamless dispensation of justice. The call was made by the chairman of the Standing Committee on Court Users of the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ), Justice Alfred Mabeya (inset) when the Committee visited the Nyahururu court in Laikipia county.

The eight-member team called upon members of the Nyahururu Court Users Committee to work as a team for timely conclusion of cases.

The NCAJ team that was routine spot checks tour appreciated the Court Users committee members for their unity and cordial working relationship. Justice Mabeya said the purpose of the visit was to hear from the committee the successes and challenges that the members are going through in the process of dispensation of justice.

Representative of the National Police Service in the Court Users team cited perennial and rampant problem of illicit brew as well as drugs trafficking.

Chief Magistrate Evans Keago of Nyahururu who also chairs the Nyahururu Court Users Committee (CUC) appreciated the CUC members for their dedication to dispensation of justice.

Keago called upon all the CUCs, especially the police officers to work closely with the court and Office of the Director Public Prosecution to ensure timely expedition of justice.

“Take summons to court positively not for scolding but for clarifications of information during proceedings for fair judgment,” Keago told the police.
