Cohen murder: Court clears Wairimu to attend burial under police escort

Sarah Wairimu, the wife of the slain businessman Tob Cohen has been cleared to attend the burial of her deceased husband.

High Court judge Stella Mutuku on Monday directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) to ensure that Wairimu attends the burial.

Immediately after the burial that is scheduled to take place at 2pm, Wairimu will be escorted back to Lang’ata Women’s Prison.

She will be held at the facility until 26th September when she is expected to take plea in the case involving her husband’s murder.

Earlier, lawyers representing both sides of the family agreed to have Cohen’s body buried at the Jewish Cemetery at Pangani in accordance to the Jewish customs.

Tob Cohen, the former CEO Philip Electronics East Africa was reported to have gone missing late July but was found murdered and dumped in a septic tank at his Kitisuru home.
