Designate Politician
She highlighted her mother’s role in women’s empowerment and raising the standards of family units in the country through financial empowerment.
“In our family, we have only one designated politician. It is not me but my father, William Ruto. He has sent you your greetings,” she said.
She also reserved praise for her mother, the country’s first lady. Rachel Ruto, whom she hailed for impacting her life through her works in women’s and youth empowerment.
“My mother is a champion of women. She has been advocating for women’s economic empowerment for the last 15 years through table banking and other related activities. I have been a huge beneficiary of her work, and she has also sent her greetings,” she added.

Charlene, in her speech, urged parents and guardians to continue supporting the young people. She promised to continue her outreach to young people and share ideas with them, and also encourage them to pursue their talents.
The event was attended by CS John Mbadi, Migori Governor Ochillo Ayacko, and Hamisi Muo, the Deputy Country Representative at the UNITED NATIONS Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), among others.
It recognised the importance of education and the crucial role that women play in our society.
Charlene’s remarks come after her mother reassured the residents of Elgeyo Marakwet County and the country of President Ruto’s deep concern for their plight.
Speaking while overseeing the distribution of relief items and services to the families affected by the deadly landslides in Chesongoch, Elgeyo Marakwet, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Rachel assured that the government and the executive remain privy to the needs of Kenyans.
“I want to assure you that President Ruto remembers all Kenyans wherever they are. He does not discriminate against anyone or any region; he is working to ensure that all people can access the basic needs to continue with their livelihoods,“ she stated.
