Sombre mood engulfed Huruma village, in Cherangany, in Trans Nzoia county when the casket carrying the remains of the renowned writer and journalist  Prof Ken Walibora  arrived at his home for burial at 2.30pm, yesterday.

The church service led by Jehovah’s Witnesses Pioneer Ken  Lujiri took a record 20 minutes with the church asking the government to bring Walibora’s killers to book.

The professor’s elder brother Patrick Lumumba said  Walibora’s  demise is not only a big blow to the family but also the entire nation. He said  Walibora was a humble, caring and loving man with deep insight on issues with discerning power of empathising with the less fortunate.

Walibora is reported to have met his death  through a road accident on landhies’ road in Nairobi even as his relatives demand proper investigations.

Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny eulogised Walibora as a pragmatic team leader who motivated many talents and said he had lost a great friend.  The MP called for speedy investigations into the  death.
