Caleb Amisi demands answers over Tuju’s whereabouts
By Faith Lagat, March 22, 2026Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has called for clarity on the whereabouts of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju amid reports of his disappearance.
In a post on X dated March 22, 2026, Amisi urged the government to provide information on Tuju’s fate.
“We must know the whereabouts of our brother Raphael Tuju. The Ruto government must present him alive or dead. Non-negotiable. Kenyans are tired of kidnappings, disappearances and abductions of fellow Kenyans!”
The remarks come as concerns grow over Tuju’s disappearance, with political leaders and members of the public calling for investigations and clarification on the circumstances surrounding the case.
Dispute over Dari Business Park
The controversy surrounding Tuju follows a long-running commercial dispute between his company, Dari Limited, and the East African Development Bank. In 2015, the company secured a loan of about Ksh943.9 million to develop commercial units in Nairobi, leading to the establishment of the Dari Business Park in Karen.
According to reports, the loan later defaulted, with accrued interest and related costs increasing the amount owed to about Ksh2.2 billion.
On March 14, 2026, more than 50 officers from the Rapid Response Unit conducted an early-morning operation at the property, sealing the compound and removing Tuju and several occupants from the premises.

The operation affected more than 25 businesses located within the complex. Tuju later criticised the action, stating that it was carried out without a valid court eviction order at the time and resulted in injuries to a member of his family. He also said attempts to restructure or repay the loan had not been successful.
Leaders raise concerns over disappearance
The incident has drawn reactions from several leaders. James Orengo described Tuju as a “wonderful leader and strategist” and a “victim of ferocious capitalism and a bloody cabal in a kleptocratic state.”
Anyang’ Nyong’o questioned the use of police officers in what he described as a civil commercial dispute, while former government spokesperson Eliud Owalo visited the site and raised concerns about the impact of such actions on business confidence.
Reports indicate Tuju has been missing since Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2026, with his phones switched off. His family has since filed a missing person report at Karen Police Station.
