Cabinet asks KNEC to fast track preparations for national exams

The Cabinet has directed the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to fast track early preparations for this year’s form four, standard eight and grade six examinations set for later this year.

A cabinet brief dispatched following a cabinet meeting chaired by president William Ruto on Tuesday sanctioned the early preparations for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations as well as the second cohort of Grade six learners sitting the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) all set for later this year. “Cabinet sanctioned early preparations for the 2023 national examinations, being KCPE and KCSE, as well as the taking of national examinations by the second cohort of Grade six learners in the former of Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA),” read the dispatch from State House.  

KNEC is currently in the process of registering Standard Eight and Form Four candidates, a process which started on February 1 and will run until the end of this month.
