Bus accident leaves 26 nursing injuries
Twenty-six people were left nursing serious injuries after a bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident along the Eldoret – Nakuru highway on Tuesday.
Confirming the incident, Eldama Ravine sub-county Police Commander Maxwell Agoro said the accident involved a 62-seater bus owned by by Kukhu Sacco at Danger Area.
He said that the bus which was headed to Nairobi veered off the road and rolled several times.
“The bus was Nairobi-bound and according to our preliminary reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle before rolling, the passengers are lucky we do not have any fatalities,” said Agoro.
He added that the passengers on board suffered serious injuries and are recuperating at Mercy Mission Hospital in Ravine.
He says police have launched a manhunt for the bus driver who fled the scene after the accident.
