Azimio engaged ethical hackers to know truth about 2022 poll – Raila
Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga now says the opposition worked with ethical hackers to establish the truth about the August 9th, 2022, presidential election which he claims he won by more than two million votes.
Speaking to Ramogi TV, the opposition chief maintained that he did not want to comment on the contested presidential election results until he had all of the facts.
“I did not want to talk about the results and elections, I could have been seen to be lamenting a lot. I had to look for ethical hackers to know the truth,” Raila told the Dholuo TV station on Monday.
He disclosed that Azimio got the hackers from abroad. They jetted into the country with their machines but were allegedly tracked by state agents forcing them to work outside Nairobi.
“We got them from abroad and they came with their machines. They had to go as far as Athi River, some in Kajiado and even Kiambu because they were being tracked for about a month,” he added.
According to the former premier, the hackers were able to provide the opposition with details about the election that had been hidden by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
“These revelations came while I was in South Africa, so I promised my supporters that I would address them once I am back in the country. It was evident that Ruto (President William Ruto) did not win clean from the last general elections” Raila added.
“Mr Ruto got 5.9 million while Azimio got 8.1 million. We won the last election with a margin of 2.2 million.”
Raila challenges IEBC to open servers
The revelations came a day after Raila challenged the national polls agency to open the server and make public the results of the last General Election.
Raila, who is on a countrywide blitz to highlight what he calls the failures of President Ruto administration maintained on Sunday that the audit of the results done by an alleged IEBC whistle-blower last month were authentic.
Addressing a rally in Busia, the ODM party leader maintained that the Azimio brigade does not reorganise him as President.
He said the coalition will in the coming days publish the results of the August 9 General Election to enable Kenyans know what happened in the last poll.
“The law says results of the election must be published from all the 210 constituencies. This did not happen,” he said.
“There are no County Returning Officers, the law only recognises Constituency Returning Officers and the results we are going to publish will reflect what was received from all the 210 constituencies.”
