Easter Holiday messages

With the onset of Easter holidays, leaders across various sectors are expected to send their wishes to Kenyans and all individuals around the world who are celebrating the festivities.

President William Ruto on Friday, April 18, 2025, sent his easter message to Kenyans, even as other senior leaders in the government equally delivered their wishes.

“May the love and sacrifice of Jesus fill your hearts with peace on this Easter,” Ruto noted.

In his message, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi urged Kenyans to remain hopeful for a brighter future.

“Easter reminds us of renewal, hope, and the power of community. Wishing all Kenyans a joyful and blessed Easter filled with peace. Let’s rise in faith, love, and unity, just as He rose for us, and celebrate with hope for a brighter, better tomorrow,” Mudavadi observed.

The US Embassy in Nairobi notified its visitors that their offices would remain closed until Tuesday, April 22, 2025, when they will reopen after the holidays.

“Happy Easter Weekend! The embassy will be closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, in observance of the holiday,” the US Embassy stated.

Reactions to Matiang’i’s arrival from the US

Reactions are expected on the arrival of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i from the United States after weeks of absence from the country’s political scene.

Matiang’i, who was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by a host of leaders, had been away from the country even as the 2027 politics revolved around his candidacy.

Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni remarked that “It’s all systems go,” as he received the former firebrand Interior Cabinet Secretary at the airport.

Following his endorsement by the Jubilee Party in January 2025, Matiang’i is seen as a potential challenger of President William Ruto in the 2027 polls.
