Politician Alinur claims Mercy Tarus disrespected Uasin Gishu leaders in scholarship saga
Politician Alinur Mohammed has called out Mercy Tarus for fiercely criticising Uasin Gishu county leaders over the Uasin Gishu education airlift programme.
In the video, Mercy went blood and guts on the county leaders; Governor Jonathan Bii, his deputy John Barorot and Senator Jackson Mandago demanding accountability for the money they had invested in the project to make their dreams come true.
The Kabarak University graduate who had planned to enrol at the Northern Lights College received nationwide praise from a section of social media users.
Alinur’s thoughts
However, her sentiments seemed to irk Allinur who claimed that she was being disrespectful to her elders.
In a statement, Alinur accused the 24-year-old of being rude to the leaders and mishandling the situation.
“Those who are clapping for Mercy Tarus for being rude before her elders and Uasin Gishu leaders Governor Jonathan Bii, his deputy John Barorot, and Senator Jackson Mandago you should be ashamed of yourself because you are not helping solve the situation.
“This is a very serious situation that even President William Ruto should call all the parents, guardians, and students to State House Nairobi and listen to them. However, I don’t like the way Mercy Tarus and others are handling the situation. Why is she organising demonstrations?” he posed.
Continuing his spiel, Alinur went on to state that the Kabarak University graduate should be ‘keen’ on her behaviour and refrain from diverting from the main issue.
“Mercy Tarus should be keen and watch her behaviour so that she doesn’t divert from the main issue and lose the money. We don’t need dramas for them to be refunded. We only need accountability,” he added.

Shortly after making his stance, a barrage of comments flooded the politician’s comment section with quarters criticising him for defending the leaders.
A section of the irked users claimed that the politician was actively seeking attention with nonsensical arguments.
Below are some of the comments:
Senator Ledama Olekina wrote: My brother put yourself in her shoes and ask yourself one question who will fight for her rights if those tasked with the fiduciary duty don’t give a hoot in hell?
Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru wrote: Pesa ya ads haitafutwi hivo.
Another user by the name Chriss Da Bass wrote: The Moment You Defraud People’s Hard earned Money and you disrespect Them by not even showing up on time, Then you don’t deserve any respect as a leader,,,, hii mambo ya ku worship leaders iliisha, Wewe Kama Kiongozi Ni mtumishi Sio Mungu…
