Activist petitions EACC over Narok funds misuse

An activist from Narok County has petitioned the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate alleged mismanagement of NG-CDF funds in the county.
Johana Kiprono Langat Kamilan said the lawmakers should be probed for putting up standards projects yet they are spending taxpayers money and the locals should feel the value of their money.
Speaking to the press yesterday, Langat said the leaders are using the projects for political mileage, which is totally unacceptable.
“It is sad that those who were given a mandate by the people to initiate meaningful projects are letting them down,” said Langat.
He added that the MPs have been using the public projects to siphon public money at the expense of suffering Kenyans.
“Some of the classrooms being constructed to the tune of Sh1.4 million, and if given the local contractors, they can do a marvellous job with less budget as compared to the contractors being fronted by these leaders,” he noted.
