The recovered cables are believed to have been cut from active power lines, resulting in disruptions to the electricity supply in parts of Kisumu.

The statement further noted that the five were escorted to the station for formal processing and will be arraigned in court.

“The suspects were escorted to the station for processing and subsequent arraignment in court. The cable was secured as an exhibit,” the statement added.

The National Police Service commended members of the public for their continued cooperation with security agencies in the fight against vandalism and other criminal activities.

“The National Police Service appreciates the continued collaboration from the public in combating criminal activities,” the statement concluded.
