257 students to get full scholarship in Khwisero

By , December 22, 2023

Some 257 needy students from Khwisero constituency, Kakamega County will be placed on full scholarships paid through the NG-CDF.

Area Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka said that each of the beneficiaries will be picked from all the villages in the constituency.

Speaking in the constituency yesterday, the legislator explained that the beneficiaries should have scored 300 marks and above in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.

Aseka said the vetting process was conducted on Tuesday at the sub-location level with beneficiaries expected to be announced soon.

“The vetting panels had firm instructions to pick at least one student in each of the 257 villages in Khwisero,” he added.

Poverty cycle

The MP pointed out that the latest beneficiaries will add to a growing list of learners sponsored through NG-CDF.

These are hundreds of others who were being educated courtesy of scholarships from his Aseka Miradi Foundation.

“Tackling illiteracy in Khwisero is one of my priorities and is meant to end the cycle of poverty in the constituency,” said the legislator.

“We are also putting up modern learning facilities to provide a conducive environment for our learners and their teachers. And we are already seeing the fruits through enhanced academic performance in our schools,” he added.
