Leaders and politicians in Meru county have been urged to embrace peaceful and non divisive politics ahead of 2020 General-Election.

Speaking yesterday in Muthara,Tarsila Kawiria who is vying for Tigania East parliamentary seat called on all leaders and aspirants from the region to shun ill politics and supremacy war for the unity of the region.

The first woman in Tigania to throw her weight in the race dominated by male politicians, accused a section of leaders in the area of publicly exchanging bitters words a move she said is creating incitement and enemy among the electorate.

“There is no need of insulting one another in politics in the name of supremacy battle what matters is your manifesto that you sell to your people and the work you have done for them that what earn you votes and a re-election gate pass not how much you can taint the image of others by spreading lies and using too much physical energy people have eyes and they can see your work,” added Tarsila.

While expressing confidence that she will capture the hotly contested seat ,she added reckless talk by politicians cannot only, brew division but also cost lives.

“Let us foster peace and unity as we campaign no need of tearing one another let our integrity and dedication to serve our people give us votes because I am telling my friends Josephat Kabeabea the sitting MP and former legislature Mpuru Aburi to prepare for a early defeat come 2020 because I know they have failed to deliver during their tenure,” she added.

She at the same time urged the two veteran politicians to consider retiring from politics and pave way for a woman leadership adding she will prioritise empowering women and the youths to become self reliance, improve education ,roads and support both health and water sector in partnership with both county and national government to give a better livelihood to the residents .
