Westland’s MP Timothy Wanyonyi Wetang’ula has officially declared his interest in Nairobi’s gubernatorial seat come 2022.

Wanyonyi believes after his 15-year service to the people of Westland’s, he has a bigger calling, that of becoming the next Nairobi governor in the upcoming 2022 general elections.

“Ladies and gentlemen, while I have made huge efforts and contributions to uplifting the lives of our people in Westlands Constituency for over 15years, I now have a bigger calling- to become the Governor of Nairobi County in 2022,” Wanyonyi said.

According to Wanyonyi, he has worked hard to deliver the required results through honesty, transparency and dedication and believes it can replicate if elected Nairobi governor.

“As MP Westlands, I have worked with my people to attain such great progress for them by being honest, transparent, selfless, and dedicated, and by God’s divine mercy. This model of leadership has worked for Westlands; it will work for Nairobi as well,” Wanyonyi said.

Wanyonyi further revealed he will make the official declaration early next week and will vie for an ODM ticket.

“This is why, next week, I will be making the official declaration of my candidature for the Nairobi Gubernatorial race on our ODM Party,” Wanyonyi added.

Timothy Wanyonyi Wetang’ula is brother to Moses Masika Wetang’ula, Senator Bungoma.
