Members of the Luhya community are plotting to have one of their own succeed President William Ruto after  he serves two terms.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula said Luhyas were keen on helping President Ruto secure a second term in 2027 and eventually produce his successor in 2032.

“We are determined to have our own taking over from President Ruto in 2032 and this can only be possible if we vote as a bloc. We have the numbers but always scatter them. This should no longer happen,” he told the congregation amid cheers.

Wetang’ula was speaking at a church in Kakamega County yesterday.

The leaders used the fundraiser for St Patrick’s Sisokhe Catholic Church in Navakholo constituency to rally the community towards working with the National Government.

Wetang’ula, Senate Chief Whip Boni Khalwale and Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa also agreed not to participate in Azimio’s protest rallies.
