Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has called on the Kamba community to unite behind Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and support his bid for the presidency in the 2027 general election.

In a statement shared on her X handle on Saturday, July 25, 2026, Ndeti said the community’s political strength would be enhanced if its leaders and residents remained united and spoke with one voice as the country heads toward the next elections.

“Charity begins at home. As the Kamba community, we must remain united and speak with one voice as we prepare for next year’s general election,” Ndeti said.

The Machakos governor has urged the community to rally behind Kalonzo, saying unity, purpose and determination would be critical in advancing both the region’s interests and the country’s future.

“Let us rally behind H.E. Dr Kalonzo Musyoka and support his presidential bid with unity, purpose, and determination. Our strength lies in standing together and working towards a common goal for the benefit of our people and our nation,” Ndeti added.

Call for focus and unity

Ndeti has further appealed to leaders and residents of the Ukambani region to remain focused on their shared political vision and avoid divisions that could weaken their bargaining power.

According to the governor, maintaining a united front will place the region in a stronger position to pursue its aspirations in the run-up to the 2027 polls.

“Our focus should remain on our shared vision while avoiding unnecessary distractions. By standing together with one purpose, we will be stronger and better positioned to achieve our aspirations,” she said.

Kalonzo’s 2027 campaign gathers momentum

Ndeti’s remarks come as political alignments continue to take shape ahead of the 2027 General Election, with leaders across the country intensifying efforts to consolidate support in their respective regions.

Kalonzo, who has declared his intention to seek the presidency, has been actively engaging supporters across the country while working with other opposition leaders under the broader opposition coalition. His allies have consistently maintained that regional unity will be essential

Her appeal also comes at a time when political parties are stepping up grassroots mobilisation and coalition-building ahead of what is expected to be a highly competitive 2027 presidential contest.
