Wandayi fires back at Kalonzo, Wamalwa over NADCO report implementation
By Kiprono Keileb, December 7, 2025Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has launched a sharp criticism at former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, calling out the two leaders for speaking dishonestly about the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) process and its implementation.
Wandayi made the remarks on Sunday, December 7, 2025, while making his address, a day after the two leaders visited to offer their condolences during the funeral service of Beryl Achieng Odinga.
He called out both Kalonzo and Wamalwa for publicly discrediting a process they were directly involved in.

In his statement, Wandayi recounted his displeasure with Wamalwa’s recent public remarks on NADCO.
“Wamalwa said while we were at the National Dialogue Committee, that was same as NADCO, Wamalwa cannot have the moral authority to dictate how NADCO should be implemented,” he said.
He went on to say that Wamalwa did not sign the final report; instead, he moved away to avoid the process.
“On the last day when we were signing the NADCO report, Wamalwa took off. He declined to sign the report claiming that he was driving to DRC Congo yet he went and hid somewhere in Kilimani,” Wandayi stated.

Slams Kalonzo
Turning to Kalonzo Musyoka, Wandayi said the Wiper leader’s comments on past killings of Luo youth were politically selective since he was quiet when killings were happening way back, while he was in the government.
“He did claim that a number of Luo people had been killed before and that he needs answers. I don’t know from who because some of our sons who have been killed in the past were killed when Kalonzo was in government and he never questioned those killings then,” Wandayi said.
He also faulted Kalonzo for dismissing the current government’s plan to compensate victims of political violence dating back to 2017, urging him to allow the selected committee to do their work.

“Now when the government led by President William Ruto has gone a step further and established a committee to undertake compensation of all the victims of violence from 2017 up to now, he goes ahead and rubbishes that initiative. He should allow that committee to complete its work,” he said.
Wandayi added that NADCO recommendations are already being implemented, dismissing claims that nothing has moved.
“Kalonzo also claimed that nothing has been implemented from the NADCO report, yet we know that IEBC has been put in place through a selection panel in which sat a nominee of Kalonzo Musyoka. We need to be honest as leaders,” he said.
