Wajackoyah: Introduction of death penalty is key to ending corruption
By Emmanuel Rono, April 15, 2026Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has claimed that the introduction of the death penalty is the only viable solution to Kenya’s deep-seated corruption crisis.
Speaking during an interview with a local station on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Wajackoyah argued that the country should adopt a mechanism similar to that of Afghanistan, where those found guilty of corruption are hanged upside down.
“In Afghanistan, if you are found to have been involved in corruption, they will give you the right, and you will have to pass through the justice mechanism. And if you’re found guilty, they will definitely hang you upside down just like they hang the former president,” Wajackoyah, who is keen to make a major political comeback, stated.

“Introduction of the death penalty will only be the solution. And that’s why we in the Roots Party are advocating for.”
Human rights framework
He dismissed modern human rights frameworks, claiming that human rights are synonymous with corruption and have contributed to the lack of accountability over the last 60 years.

“Human rights are synonymous with corruption. We see it every day, and we play the opposite every day. So with all this that has been going on for the last six years, 60 years, finding people who have been arrested by the EACC, to finding some of them, their charges being dropped when they are appointed,” Wajackoyah stated.
Wajackoyah’s vision

From legalised cultivation and sale of marijuana to the rearing of snakes and dogs to boost the economy and pay off Kenya’s debts, to the suspension of the Constitution. And from the introduction of federal governance, relocation of the country’s capital to Isiolo, uprooting of the Standard Gauge Railway, expulsion of Chinese contractors, to the killing of corrupt people, Wajackoyah’s manifesto is radical and controversial.
“Just 2.5 acres of marijuana can fetch Sh7.8 million in revenue. My government will legalise marijuana farming for export and use the proceeds to pay off national debts to China,” Wajackoya noted.
With the 2027 political chase game gaining momentum, Wajackoyah recently threw his weight behind Siaya Governor James Orengo, who is among the proponents of the Linda Mwananchi initiative.
