The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party National Election Board (NEB), on Friday, September 19, 2025, undertook the training of presiding officers who will conduct nominations on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in various parts of the country.

NEB officials in different areas where the nominations will be conducted were busy training the officers on how to use the digital devices to be used in the party primaries.

In a party statement released on Friday, September 19, 2025, the ruling party said officials in charge of Baringo County, led by Commissioner Mary Mutinga, who is leading the primaries team, and Commissioner Ferrah Etyang, in charge of the vast Tiaty and Baringo South constituencies, trained the polling station officials.

”By Friday evening, all officers had been dispatched to their respective stations, where they will open the stations on Saturday at 6 am,” the statement said in part.

Amid the training sessions, UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan also handed a provisional certificate to party candidate for Narok Town ward in the upcoming by-election, Robert Kanyinke Kudate on Friday, September 19, 2025.

The awarding of the certificate was witnessed by Narok Governor Patrick Keturet Ntutu, Narok Women Representative Rebecca Tonkei, Narok South Member of Parliament Kitilai Ole Ntutu, Narok County Assembly Speaker Davis Dikirr, area MCAs led by their Majority Leader Sonkoi Lemein and UDA grassroots elected leaders. Three other UDA aspirants, Hezron Koori, Isaac Lemein and Joseph Kamau, opted to drop their bid in favour of Mr Kudate.

Mbarire’s message to aspirants

Meanwhile, UDA National Chairman Cecily Mbarire has challenged the party’s aspirants to conduct their campaigns with humility as the ruling party seeks to assert its dominance in the upcoming by-elections.

Speaking on Monday, September 8, 2025, during the issuance of certificates to the various party aspirants in Nairobi, the Embu Governor implored them to humbly engage the wananchi, stressing that a prideful attitude could hurt the party’s chances.

“Go seek the seats with humility; don’t go about bragging that we are the government, and we will win whether we like it or not. That is not our style or that of our leader, William Ruto,” she asserted. “Go ask for votes with humility, and I’m sure we will bring them home,” she said
