Tony Gachoka: 10-point agenda ended with Raila’s death
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, February 25, 2026Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Tony Gachoka has argued that the ambitious 10-point agenda championed by the late Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Raila Odinga effectively came to a close with his passing, arguing that the outfit no longer has people to drive the agenda
Speaking in an interview with a local radio station on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Gachoka argued that the late leader’s death left not only an emotional void but also brought to an end the organised political strategy he had long driven.
“Members of Raila Odinga’s family appear divided, with signs that his party is struggling to maintain unity and cohesion. The 10-point agenda effectively ended with Raila Odinga, losing momentum and relevance after his leadership era,” Gachoka remarked.

The now KANU party member argued that the 10-point agenda, which was meant to be a blueprint for national cohesion and reform, may struggle to survive without the central figure who conceived and championed it. In Gachoka’s view, Odinga’s personal leadership was critical to maintaining consensus and direction across his political movement.
Gaps Within the Odinga Family and ODM

Gachoka has attributed the failure of the planned 10-point agenda implementation to gaps within his family and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
In recent days, the Odinga family has been in political disagreement, with active family members seemingly having opposing opinions
Within ODM, the absence of Odinga’s personal authority has exposed tensions over leadership and direction. Factions within the party are asserting differing visions for its future, and debates continue over whether the movement is primarily a family legacy or a national political organisation.
10-Point Agenda report deadline
Sentiments from Tony Gachoka have come with 10 days to the review of the pact, and the committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the 10-point agenda is under mounting pressure to submit a comprehensive progress report as the deadline approaches. The committee has a deadline of March 7, 2026, to submit its final report.
