Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has billed his much-awaited Azimio La Umoja mega meeting, scheduled for Friday, December 10, 2021, as a unity forum that will see an attendance of various leaders from across the country.

The opposition chief, on Tuesday, revealed that he will use the Friday meeting to demonstrate his unity deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to Raila, the event will be attended by both ODM and Jubilee delegates.

“We will have sitting arrangements for delegates separate from that of supporters,” Raila said.

Raila has also extended an olive branch to OKA principals, among them Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi and Moses Wetangula.

Other than the OKA principals, Raila is also expected to play host to leaders from other political parties.

It is estimated that some 60,000 delegates and supporters will attend the event at the Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.

About six governors from the Mount Kenya region have confirmed their attendance as well as two former governors from the region.

The governors include; Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), James Nyoro (Kiambu), Kiraitu Murungi (Meru) and Nderitu Mureithi (Laikipia).

Others leaders expected at the convention include; Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth.

Members of the business community from the Mt Kenya region led by the Mount Kenya Foundation are also expected to be part of the ceremony.

The group who are also said to be among the financiers of the event are also expected to endorse Raila for Presidency at the Safari Park hotel.

The Kikuyu Council of Elders, led by Wachira Wakiago, will also grace the much-hyped meeting.
